However, "my" yoga is a little different from the classic way.
Sometimes the session only last for a few minutes, but it's just as effective.
Since it's rather a mental instead of a physical kind, it can be exercised anywhere and at anytime.

And I feel absolutely no desire to do so.
Yoga seems to be quite trendy at the moment but I prefer different types of exercise, e.g. swimming, preferably outdoors.
I don't see the point in this poll.
Why not baseball? Why not soccer? Why not play with your dog?

My thoughts exactly.
Not sure what can be gleaned from this type of poll.

These polls do not have to refer exclusively to translation matters, otherwise they would be tediously boooooooring.

There was no "Don't give a t%$$ about !&|##&% yoga" option

Ditto. Quid ergo?
Come to think of it, chaps, I have some equally useful and scintillating poll topics of mine for you all:
Are you a boy or a girl?
Do you take milk in your coffee?
What's your favorite color?
Who's your favorite Disney character?
etc., etc.
I'm sure that the answers to these and other poll questions will provide endless in-depth and thought-provoking observation about the significance and meaning of translation on a site dedicated entirely to translators.
Yawn.....

I take a yoga class twice a week (2 x 1.5 hours) and I find that it does wonders for my body and state of mind.
It's very relaxing yet physically and mentally stimulating.
I commend those disciplined enough to practice every day! I also take a bi-weekly dance class and try to walk or run at least 30 minutes a day.

I also practise yoga twice a week (1,5h each class), but it is not enough for me, so I practise at home in the morning and evening. At home I do simple yoga complex to stretch my body. Isn't one point of those polls to get to know your fellow translators a bit? So why not talk about yoga or other kinds of sports/activities every once in a while? Even translators have a life outside of translating (at least so I heard)
And no, I don't do Yoga... I tried it and found that my body is just not able to do those moves... but I love Tai Chi<... See more

Wording the poll, for example, as:
What sport/exercise/training do you do to relieve translation-related stress?
Yoga
Stretching
Aerobics
Jogging
Cycling
Boxing
Karate
None of the above
Some of the above
Other N/A (discuss)
Could have stimulated discussion and provided us with answers and better insight about what other translators do for stress relief -- other than answer Proz polls, that is.
Have a sunny weekend
I'm trying, Anja. I'm trying.

Yoga is definitely the discipline to counteract stress because it's not only for the body but also for the mind.
I practice yoga and my doctor has even advised me to do small sessions of yoga every 50 minutes while translating!
Just like Joselyne, I find it to be a very helpful discipline.
but, apparently, 0.7% of people who answered don't know what yoga is! That's 28 people out of the 405 that answered (at the moment)... I'm quite shocked!
