Yes, but I do not need it, but it may be useful for me inthe future.
John Cutler Espagne Local time: 13:39 espagnol vers anglais + ...
I'm a combination of don't need one, but I'd like one.
I've always liked to keep my fingers in as many pies as possible and something non-language related sounds tempting. Now if I only knew what it was!

I used to teach at my university but I quit when I left grad school.
I'd like to keep as many fingers in as many pies. So I make extra efforts to cultivate new customers who, hopefully, pay better just in case my regular customers disappear or some areas of the translation market cave in. ![](https://cfcdn.proz.com/images/bb/smiles/icon_eek.gif)
And like, Enrico
I'd love to teach a J>E technical translation course at my old college, SOAS, London while doing an M.A. But that is yet another pipe dream ....

My answer is no, but maybe would be a good idea, because I have not enough work in translation. But if I have another job, I think could not manage to be ready for the dead lines.

I suppose I could always go back and work in a research laboratory, splicing genes and purifying proteins but I THINK I am happier translating and interpreting... ![](https://cfcdn.proz.com/images/bb/smiles/icon_smile.gif)
No, not any more | May 14, 2013 |
I have worked in administration and as an English teacher, but translation is much more satisfying for me and I don't think I want to go back.
I have a long and checkered career behind me of varied and more or less stopgap jobs.
I am in the lucky position of not needing another profession - I could never realistically go back to any of the others.
When I do stop translating or wind down, I will be able to retire with a pension, although it will be a better one if I wait a few years.

I don't need one, but I'd love to sing in a professional choir.
Yes, I also own a bakery, a building company and a ballet school!
