I forgot about this thread, so I didn't respond to this. Sorry about that.

Simply submitting a bid through ProZ does not put you in a contractual relationship. But if you do something more (such as tell them "Sure, I'll do this."), you do need to do it. If long-lost cousin's letter doesn't get to the nuclear reactors until page 90, you may be on the hook.
