Progressing backwards

I started saying many years ago that we are progressing backwards. I don't know whether it's for better or worse, but that's the way it is.
We decorate our bodies with tattoos and pierce holes in them. The arts also reflect this 'progression'; no longer do you see eleborate costumes and scenery in theatre productions and poetry is more concise. Painting, sculpture and music have also followed suit. Even this year's Nobel Prize in Literature has been awarded to a songwriter!
Fashion is also changing, including fashion for pregnant mothers. When I was expecting my babies, I made an effort to hide my bulge (even from me) by wearing loose maternity clothes. Nowadays many women are quite happy to wear bikinis and cropped T-shirts and are proud of their bumps, and quite rightly, too.
And as regards feeding babies, mothers are quite happy to bare their breasts as soon as their child demands a drink, regardless of where they are. About five years ago I was giving information to a woman about the English classes in my academy and we were sitting at a table. Suddenly her two-and-a-half-year-old climbed onto her mother's lap, pulled her T-shirt down and began drinking; mother and daughter were sitting less than a metre away from me! It would appear that mealtimes and eating around a table are a things of the past.
And, last but not least, why reply to a question with a full answer when a simple 'Yeah', 'No' or 'I dunno' is sufficient? And if you can say how you feel with a picture, well, all the better!
