Hi friends,
1. I have Win7, I have installed Hindi language pack from windows website. But in Hindi Unicode, joint letters like द्व or द्य etc are not displaying jointly, its displaying separately द्व & द्य, neither on any browser nor on any application, i.e. word, ppt, xls etc.
2. I use Hindi IME for भ्indi typing - Remington - Gail layout. Except MS-Word, in every other application i have to press space bar 2 time, in 1st space system... See more Hi friends,

If anybody can help me know how to short out any of these problem, his/her help would be very much appreciated. Earlier I was using windows XP, there i never faced any of these problems. Only in Win7 i am facing these problems.

Try changing the font to arial unicode ms, aparajita, kokila or something else.
For some reason, probably an oversight on the part of Microsoft, they have omitted to use the combined single glyph of द्य and द्व in Mangal font. All other combinations use the single glpyh, for example, द्ध, ह्र, द्म, etc.
Moreover, this problem is there only in the new version of Mangal, the earlier version did not have this problem.

Today I went to Bhasha India Site for a different purpose (a friend had suggested for something different).
While browsing the site I found they have released Hindi Indic Input 3 for 64 bit windows (for few versions of windows).
I download and installed it, it worked wonderfully without any symptom of Problem No. 2 mentioned above.
A big thanks to Bhasha India and that friend!

केंद्रीय हिंदी निदेशालय की अनुशंसाओं के अनुसार द्ध, ह्र, द्म आदि संयुक्त रूपों को अलग-अलग ही लिखना/टंकित करना चाहिए। एक्सपी में संयुक्त रूप चलता है जिसे मंगल के नए संस्करणों में सुधारा गया है। यह कोई नई समस्या नहीं, बल्कि सुधार के रूप में उठाया गया कदम है।

चौबे जी, हम भाषा शास्त्री नहीं हैं। हमारी रोजी-रोटी बाजार से चलती है। जो चलन में है वही मानक है। हम कहां-कहां सिर खपाएंगे। संयुक्ताक्षर चलन में हैं तो हैं।

कई बार लोकल एजेंसियों से भाषा को लेकर भिड़ जाते हैं। मैंने उन्हें बताया कि हम किसी सरकारी महकमे में नहीं हैं, क्लाइंट की मर्जी से चलना पड़ता है। ग्लासरी दी जाती है कई बार और हम उससे सहमत नहीं होते। पर फिर भी उसे अप्लायी तो करते हैं।
सवाल रोजी-रोटी का है। हिंदी के मानकीकरण के प्रयासों का मंच अलग होगा। बाजार नहीं। बाजार में तो क्लाइंट रूपी ईश्वर के ही नियम चलेंगे क्योंकि वह हमें पैसा देता है।
