original equipment
meaning NOT aftermarket
it could be, even if I don't what kind of goods you are talking about

Yep, good call, I was probably incorrect saying equipment, thanks!

Daryo
: this about supplies / accessories needed to start using some equipment, not the equipment itself, like batteries for torches, or bullets for guns.

leave out equipment then, the original still stands, they're called 'primo impianto' in Italy which has the same meaning as premiere dotation, Marco is correct, original accessories

initial-issue
The accessories/ancillaries are issued on initial purchase of the goods. They may not be necessarily required for initial use of the goods.

Daryo
: maybe "initial-issue consumables/accessories supply"?; As for: “may not be necessarily required for initial use of the goods.": how your are going to use a torch without batteries, a printer without cartridges, or a new car without any fuel in it?

Some initial-issue items may be for the purpose of, say, annual maintenance.

Discussion
I did a small job for an Italian spare parts dealer a while ago, and I must say I was convinced "première dotation" was automotive jargon only but now I've seen it I think it probably applies to a lot of other goods too.
Anyhow, I was told to translate on their brochure 'primo impianto' as 'original' and I was given this example, "Ferrari doesn't manufacture brake discs so Ferraris come out originally with Brembo ceramic brake discs fitted, anything else than Brembo is aftermarket".
Now, it looks to me that saying Ferrari original brake discs might be misleading, as it could hint manufactured by Ferrari, which, apparently, they are not.. Is this the only difference between original and for initial use, originally manufactured and originally fitted? Have I got this right or can you read something else into this?
