Glossary entry (derived from question below)
français term or phrase:
fantaisies délicates
anglais translation:
whimsical objets d'art/gems
Merci Beaucoup,
Barbara

When entering new questions, KudoZ askers are given an opportunity* to classify the difficulty of their questions as 'easy' or 'pro'. If you feel a question marked 'easy' should actually be marked 'pro', and if you have earned more than 20 KudoZ points, you can click the "Vote PRO" button to recommend that change.
How to tell the difference between "easy" and "pro" questions:
An easy question is one that any bilingual person would be able to answer correctly. (Or in the case of monolingual questions, an easy question is one that any native speaker of the language would be able to answer correctly.)
A pro question is anything else... in other words, any question that requires knowledge or skills that are specialized (even slightly).
Another way to think of the difficulty levels is this: an easy question is one that deals with everyday conversation. A pro question is anything else.
When deciding between easy and pro, err on the side of pro. Most questions will be pro.
* Note: non-member askers are not given the option of entering 'pro' questions; the only way for their questions to be classified as 'pro' is for a ProZ.com member or members to re-classify it.

: Love "exquisite" but feel like "artefacts" is not quite right, maybe "exquisite little objects" or something??

Agree something more 'cute' sounding. Would 'trinket' be demeaning?

: don't like "artefacts" (related to archaeology) but "exquisite" hits the spot better than "whimsical" for sure

Discussion
whimsical gems of creation??
( It is hard to match the theme, register and is not an easy question as everyone has noted )

There are some pieces in the catalog (Louvre)
Example: Nécessaire à thé du régent Philippe d'Orléans (coffret)
https://collections.louvre.fr/ark:/53355/cl010113997
You can see more if you need by searching the collection or clicking the previous owner/collector from the link above
https://collections.louvre.fr/en/
//
It's just to have a visual reference if it can help with finding a suitable term
The example i gave comes from the collection David-Weill, you have others if you check for more
for example: more details on "coffret" from above
https://collections.louvre.fr/ark:/53355/cl010114156
although the first link errproject is way more relevant.
It might not be exactly the same usage of what is described, but it's the type of work "coffret" made in XVIII century, belonging to the collection mentioned.
