Italian to English translator since 2006 working with top-rung clients from all sectors, from law, finance and rewnewable energy to marketing, fashion and website localisation. I am mother-tongue English, fluent in Italian, and I work on a daily basis translating, revising, proofing and subtitling texts for an extremely wide range of sectors.
My work with brand promotion has taught me to see my work not as simply rendering a phrase or a brief from one language to another, but as making a concept clear, attractive and easy to understand and remember. In this respect, Plain English is key to my approach to writing and editing.
I am also an advanced CAT (computer assisted translation) and MT (machine translation and editing) user, including glossary and terminology management.
My university studies are in Italy (Classics/Political Science - International Relations) and Switzerland (Classics), studying in both French and Italian.
I currently work as inhouse Translator, Editor and Trainer at Italy's no.1 international law firm, providing plain language editing and translating services to our inhouse clients.
