Bio
My name is Laura Ferro and I grew up in a bilingual family in Galicia, Spain. Unsurprisingly, when I had to choose my career, I enrolled in a Bachelor's Degree in Translation and Interpreting. After that, I completed an European Master's in Conference Interpreting (EMCI) at the University of La Laguna.
I started to work full-time as translator and conference interpreter soon after finishing my Master's. I work mainly in the following fields:
Simultaneous and consecutive interpreting (on-site and remote): international organisations and agencies, NGOs, human rights, gender equality, environmental justice or social advocacy.
Marketing and SEO copywriting: I have written and translated SEO-optimized content for hotel chains, fashion and cosmetics brands, furniture companies, dairy products brands, yoga studios or tourism agencies.
IT: software information, software user guides, software and hardware products.
Research: I have translated reports for French and American universities as well as international organizations.
Technical: product information guides, user guides, product descriptions...
The CAT tools that I use the most are SDL Trados Studio, Memsource and Xbench.
