I completed my MA in Conference Interpreting at the University of Granada, Spain, in 2019. I also have a first class bachelor's degree in Accounting and Finance (University of Glasgow, UK) and a bachelor's degree in Translating and Interpreting (University of Granada, Spain). I have lived in Scotland, Spain, Belgium and Portugal, and have travelled extensively throughout Europe and Morocco. I am currently based in Brussels. I started translating in 2014 when I was offered the possibility to do some freelance work for an agency in Granada (Ofilingua) while I was still studying my degree in Translation. Subsequently, I was offered more and more work and after three years of freelancing, I was recommended by one of my lecturers for a job at a private university (ESCO Granada). I worked in the department of coordination with the University of Wales for one year as the main translator. I translated 90% ES-EN (10% EN-ES). The documents to be translated were mostly academic and administrative or related to Business and Finance. I was in charge of translating many documents such as exams and course descriptors for all four years of the Business and Marketing degree. Other work included preparation of documentation for external exam boards, academic transcripts, diplomas, minutes etc., all of which was done in ES and EN. I worked in Insurance, Customer Service, Catering and English Teaching over a period of 12 years before my first full-time job as a translator. I have a wealth of experience in public speaking, as well as people management in an educational context. I have spent the most of the past 9 years living, studying and travelling abroad. As well as a near native level of Spanish, I have very advanced level in both French and Portuguese. I also have a mid intermediate level in Catalan.
