Son impact écologique est considérable,notamment sur les écosystèmes encore intacts.Le développement d'un tourisme tourné vers une consommation de plus en plus rapide et"rentable"des voyages,où chacun pense avoir le droit de découvrir jusqu'à la parcelle la plus reculée du monde,participe à la menace qui pèse sur le renouvellement des ressources naturelles telles que l'eau douce,les forêts et les récifs coralliens,et met en péril la survie de nombres d'espèces vivants,trop souvent exposées à la curiosité de touristes s'imaginant dans des zoos à ciel ouvert.

If there is a hot issue or a blood tension, all of us focus on that problem, but if there is a frozen conflict and potential crisis, we ignore that. So therefore, this approach of preventive security is important. More important is visionary security. What do I mean by visionary security? If there is a concept of regional order in the minds of the political leaders and people of the region, there will not be crisis, or the risk of crisis will be minimal. So we have to develop a new concept of regional order. Instead of responding to these orders, clashes, tensions, there should be a new concept of regional order.
Traduction - arabe وعادة، فإن الخطأ الرئيسي الذي يقعُ فيه المجتمع الدولي هو التعامل مع الأزمات بأسلوب رد الفعل. وعند وقوع قضايا ساخنة أو اضطرابات دموية ، نركز دوما على هذه المشكلةِ بعينها، أما إذا كان هناك صراعا متجمدا أو أزمة كامنة ، فلا نكاد نلتفتُ ناحيته.ومن هنا تكمن أهميةُ هذا الأسلوب في تناول الأمن الوقائي . والأهم هو الأمنُ الحالم. فما المقصود بالأمنِ الحالم؟ إذا كان هناك تصورٌ للنظام الإقليمي في أذهان الرؤساء السياسيين ورجال المنطقة، فلن تكون هناك أزمات أو ستكون مخاطرُ اندلاع الأزمات في أقل مستوياتها. وبالتالي، يجب علينا أن نطورَ مفهوما جديدا للنظام الإقليمي. وبدلا من الاستجابة بطريقة ردود الأفعال لتلك القلاقل والاضطرابات والصدامات،علينا أن نسعى لإرساء مفهوم جديد للنظام الإقليمي .
