French-to-English Translation

I offer more than 25 years' extensive experience as a translator and editor, mainly in the fields of business, finance, marketing and information technology.

My translation projects have been wide-ranging, from major corporate documents, such as annual reports, to CVs and letters for individual customers:

• IT & Website Localisation: user guides, programming manuals, training materials, corporate & product brochures, sales & marketing literature, financial reports, proposals, press kits, website & software localisation.
  
  
• Finance: equity & bond market analysis, macroeconomic & sector research, company reports, analysts’ desk notes & morning faxes (fast turnaround), IPO prospectuses and private equity selling memos.
  
  
• Corporate Communications: annual & quarterly reports, financial & corporate press releases, newsletters, investor relations & shareholder communications, slideshows, speeches and corporate websites.
  
  
• Business & Marketing: advertising & sales materials, B2C and B2B websites, business plans & proposals, press packs, human resources & training documentation.
  
  
• Other: university theses, travel guides, internal memos, letters and CVs.
  
  Published work includes Practical Guide to Event History Analysis Using SAS, TDA and STATA, Institut National d'Études Démographiques, Méthodes et Savoirs.
  
  

I enjoy researching and working interactively with my clients to craft the most effective text for their objectives and target audiences.

As well as reflecting each client's in-house style and terminology, I aim to produce accurate, publication-ready translations that read like original English-language texts.  

I'm meticulous, well organised, customer-focused, and committed to meeting deadlines and specifications. 

I graduated with a first-class honours degree in Computational Linguistics & French from the University of Manchester (UK).

After working in France for seven years, both as a software developer and translator, I returned to the UK to join a leading French bank as an in-house translator and editor, within the Equities Research team.

I'm currently a full-time freelance translator and editor/proofreader.
