I am a Maltese/British national residing in the UK.

After graduating from the University of Malta, I started my working career in Marketing and Communications, initially with a student-and-youth travel firm, and then spending 9 years at the International Office of the University of Malta as Head of Marketing and Communications.

In 2004, I moved to the United Kingdom with my family. Prior to leaving to the UK, I followed a six-month course in translation services with the aim of establishing myself as a freelance translator in the UK. I have never looked back at that decision.

My working languages are Maltese, English, French and Italian. I have had some very interesting translating projects over the years for distinguished clients. These included: the European Investment Bank, the European Commission, the European Parliament, the Government of Malta, Microsoft, including Facebook, UK government departments and several other such institutions.

Projects cover various sectors; my specialities are EU Affairs; EU directives and regulations; banking and finance; local and national governance; white papers; certificates, diplomas, wills, etc.; civil and criminal court judgements.

My most detailed projects included the translation of an Erasmus+ app; the European Solidarity Corps programme guide; a White Paper on Housing Reform in Malta; being one of the lead linguists for Microsoft product localizations, including Facebook; translation of Brexit information documents.

When not working on one of my projects, I enjoy walking in the Cornish countryside or on one of its beaches; reading historical novels and biographies especially those by Philippa Gregory or Antonia Fraser; baking and trying out new recipes.
