I don't really see why you can't use 'breakdown' here, it certainly seems to be what they are talking about — if you look closely into exactly what SHON means (cf. several previous glossary entries), you can see why it might be important to differentiate private and communal floor areas on the basis of SHON / non-SHON, as that might lead to some quite significant discrepancies.
Remember how important these distinctions are in co-owned properties, where the divisions sometimes go down to 1/10,000th (of the total area). |
