français term

fenêtre de visite

français vers anglais Technique / Génie Ordinateurs : logiciels
I am translating a set of instructions for a pharmacy software program. The program is used to manage patients' prescriptions. The instructions contain a number of screen shots showing various tabs, menus and options. The sentence in which "fenêtre de visite" occurs is as follows: "Par défaut, toutes les prescriptions sont considérées comme Passera, à moins d'avoir inscrit l’option LIV au dossier ou d'avoir forcé Livraison dans la fenêtre de visite." Judging from the only screenshot in these instructions that shows the word "Livraison", the "fenêtre de visite" looks more like a relatively short, narrow, rectangular field. Does this term refer to a field or something else? Your help would be appreciated.

Discussion

cc in nyc Feb 23, 2012:
More likely, I think it's the window on which pick-up/delivery is specified. Since this is in the pharmacy/medical field, I wonder if it's possible that the "fenêtre de visite" is the window where data for the patient's consultation is entered. I admit I'm fishing a little...
medeast (asker) Feb 23, 2012:
cc in ny The "Livraison" field reads "Passera" on a screen shot three pages earlier in a section that deals with another function. And there are other, unrelated screen shots on the intervening pages. Could the "fenêtre de visite" simply be a field?
cc in nyc Feb 23, 2012:
@ medeast Hi again... So "Livraison" gets specified on the current screen? :-|
medeast (asker) Feb 23, 2012:
CC in NY: Thanks for your input. That's a rather insightful question, but it doesn't work in this case, unfortunately. One has to go back three pages and three different screen shots--and to a discussion about an entirely different function--to find a screen showing a "Livraison" field. The sentence I quoted is the only one in the entire text that mentions "Livraison", except in very general terms.
cc in nyc Feb 23, 2012:
@ medeast Is it possible that "Livraison" would have been specified on a previous window? If so, then perhaps "fenêtre de visite" refers to the "already-visited window" or the "previous window."

Visit window

Seemingly a standard term in healthcare practice management software, so why not pharmacy as well?

See link for example ("Office Visit window submenus").

inspection window

Inspection is translated by "visite" in French, although it is generally and erroneously translated as "Inspection".

service window

visite is also translated as service in English in some specific cases. May be this is one of them.
