aborder certaines situations de manière tangentielle
Aborder pour conserver un peu du sens du verbe ''experience'' qui, ici, n'a pas de complément.

Could you give the FULL sentence, to have some idea as to WHAT this person was having an experience of in a "tangential" manner?
Looks like a "borderline" case of some psychological state characterised by "acceleration of speech and changes in topics", but it would be really unwise to translate an adverb without knowing what it is qualifying.
