I have been working as a Translator, Interpreter and Subtitler from English, Portuguese, Spanish and French into Italian since 2010.

I work from my office in Edinburgh where I manage an audiovisual translation company, Screen Language.

I hold a MSc in Translation and Interpreting from Heriot Watt University in Edinburgh, UK and a Law Degree obtained studying in Università degli Studi di Bologna and Copenhagen Business School.

My main areas of specialisation are Film/Media and Law.

I have worked as a translator for a number of agencies and in different fields, on legal contracts, documents and certifications, newsletters and SEO websites, sales documents, academic papers, promotional websites, film pressbooks, medical texts, song lyrics and recipe books.

My preferred CAT tools are Wordfast PRO and Trados 2014.

I have worked as a subtitler for several production houses, channels and festivals and as a language consultant for film production. I use EZtitles as a professional subtitling software, delivering subtitles to the highest UK professional standards (BBC) and I work regularly for major European production companies and channels. I have also taught Subtitling Practice at Edinburgh University and Lisbon University.

I have 9 years of experience as a conference interpreter for technical, medical and political conferences in the UK, UAE, France and Holland on subjects such as defence, forestry, human rights, European Works Councils, construction materials, territorial planning, integration, surgery.

I work regularly as a liaison, public service and court interpreter in Scotland. I have also taught a session of simultaneous interpreting at Heriot Watt University Summer school.

I also have some experience as a voice over artist.

I am always interested in increasing my language expertise through translating, subtitling, interpreting, voice recording, dubbing, proofreading and teaching work.

I consider myself professional, reliable, positive and accurate. I always deliver my translations within the agreed deadlines and I generally reply to emails within a couple of hours.
