Texte source - anglais Many of the Absurdists were contemporaries with Jean-Paul Sartre, the philosophical spokesman for existentialism in Paris, but few Absurdists actually committed to Sartre's own existentialist philosophy, as expressed in Being and Nothingness, and many of the Absurdists had a complicated relationship with him.
Sartre praised Genet's plays, stating that for Genet, "Good is only an illusion. Evil is a Nothingness which arises upon the ruins of Good".
Ionesco, however, hated Sartre bitterly.
Ionesco accused Sartre of supporting Communism but ignoring the atrocities committed by Communists; he wrote Rhinoceros as a criticism of blind conformity, whether it be to Nazism or Communism; at the end of the play, one man remains on Earth resisting transformation into a rhinoceros Sartre criticized Rhinoceros by questioning: "Why is there one man who resists? At least we could learn why, but no, we learn not even that. He resists because he is there".
Sartre's criticism highlights a primary difference between the Theatre of the Absurd and existentialism: the Theatre of the Absurd shows the failure of man without recommending a solution.
In a 1966 interview, Claude Bonnefoy, comparing the Absurdists to Sartre and Camus, said to Ionesco, "It seems to me that Beckett, Adamov and yourself started out less from philosophical reflections or a return to classical sources, than from first-hand experience and a desire to find a new theatrical expression that would enable you to render this experience in all its acuteness and also its immediacy. If Sartre and Camus thought out these themes, you expressed them in a far more vital contemporary fashion".
Ionesco replied, "I have the feeling that these writers – who are serious and important – were talking about absurdity and death, but that they never really lived these themes, that they did not feel them within themselves in an almost irrational, visceral way, that all this was not deeply inscribed in their language. With them it was still rhetoric, eloquence. With Adamov and Beckett it really is a very naked reality that is conveyed through the apparent dislocation of language".

علمت "الجريدة" من مصادر مطلعة في وزارة المواصلات أن اجتماعات تنسيقية تجري على قدم وساق بين الشركات الرئيسية المزودة لخدمة الإنترنت وشركات الاتصالات المحلية الثلاث (فيفا، زين، الوطنية)، لبحث إمكان قيام هذه الأخيرة بشراء شركات الإنترنت، لاسيما أن هذه الخطوة تأتي بعد خفض أسعار الإنترنت في البلاد لأكثر من 80% على مرتين خلال أقل من عام.
خسارة حتمية
ولفتت المصادر إلى أن شركات الإنترنت واجهت مشكلات إدارية ومالية كبيرة بعد صدور هذا القرار، خصوصا أنها خفضت أسعارها بنسبة تصل إلى 80%. وقد تسبب هذا في خفض إيراداتها بنسبة تصل إلى 80%خلال أشهر قليلة رغم أن الوزارة خفضت في المقابل أسعار الدوائر الدولية المؤجرة على الشركات المزودة لخدمة الإنترنت.

وتابعت، يجب أن تقوم الوزارة بتأجير الدوائر الدولية بنظام (IRU) وهو نظام تأجير لمدة 15 عاما. وبالمقابل، تدفع الشركات للوزارة قيمة إيجار الدوائر لمدة عامين مقدما. مما يعني بقاء الشركات المزودة لخدمة الإنترنت تعمل بكامل طاقاتها. وأوضحت أن تنافس الأربع شركات جعل فائدة المشاريع قليلة جدا إن لم تكن معدومة. كما أن المشاريع الموجودة حاليا لدى الشركات والمشاريع القادمة، تدخلها الشركات بأقل الأسعار ودون فائدة مرجوة.

These are national companies with solid expertise in the field, and it will be unfortunate to see any of them going off the market.
Circuits Rental
The sources mentioned that the ministry must lease the international circuits with an (IRU) system, which is a 15 years term rental system. In return, these companies pay ahead a rental value of two years to the ministry. Consequently, Internet service provider (ISP) companies may survive on operating at full capacity. The sources explained the competition between these four companies makes any potential profit of any project very small if none. Besides, they run actual or future projects at low rates and without good profit.
Amazing deals
The sources expected if the acquisition of Internet companies by the three telecom companies takes place, offers in favor of technology market and Internet in general will be amazing and outstanding. A sample of these offers allows a free home internet against a 4G subscription. This will be possible as the LTE license provided by the Ministry of Communications at a very symbolic rate of 250 thousand KD only, will yield revenues amounting to millions of KDs in the near future for telecom companies.

Texte source - anglais A couple of my American friends, dressed in Arab garb and toting water rifles, “terrorised” the campus of Brown University. It was the first time I realised the very bright, young and privileged can also be very foolish.
A day after the staged “attack”, an Arab American student called a public meeting to protest the racism of the stunt.
During a lecture on the biological bases of behaviour, I passed out two articles to my medical students at Kuwait University. I had deleted all clues as to the identity of the subjects and the locations in the stories. I asked the students to read the articles and guess where the stories had taken place.
The first article concerned a group of clerics, known as the “Party of [God]”, who advocated serious consequences for those caught romancing on Valentine’s Day. They warned that St. Valentine was Christian and that celebrating this day was therefore against their religion. And they threatened to immediately marry off any couples caught flirting.
My students imagined these hardliners harassing the poor romantics, and they were unanimous: this fiasco could only have taken place in Saudi Arabia.
But my students were wrong. In fact, the incident took place in India and the deity in question was a Hindu god.
In the second article I gave the students, a woman complained that “stupid Talibans” had assailed her immediately after a gentleman stranger stopped her on the street to comment on how cute her baby was. When the man left, three minivans immediately surrounded the woman. Half a dozen bearded men jumped out and began interrogating her on the street about the stranger.
This time, the students were split on the location between Afghanistan and Saudi Arabia.
It shattered the students’ mental images to find out that this “Committee for the Promotion of Virtue and Prevention of Vice” was roaming the streets of New York, and that the religion in question was Judaism.
It has been shown that chimpanzees will go to war to protect their territory. But aggression toward others who don’t share one’s beliefs is nothing more than war over intellectual territory; religious faith is an intellectual line in the air.
Extremism is nothing more than a bunch of neurotransmitters working overtime. It is not Islam or Judaism or Hinduism that creates extremism; rather, some people are predisposed to extremism and will pursue it in any faith.

وزّعت خلال محاضرة ألقيتُها مؤخراً حول الأسس البيولوجية للسلوك، نسخاً عن مقالين اثنين لطلابي بكلية الطب، جامعة الكويت. وقمت بحذف كل مؤشرات هوية الأشخاص المذكورين في المقالين وأماكن حدوث موضوعيْ المقالين. طلبت من الطلبة قراءة المقالين والتفكير بالمكان الذي يعتقدون أن الواقعتين حدثتا فيهما.
يتعلق المقال الأول بمجموعة من رجال الدين يطلقون على أنفسهم اسم “حزب الإله”، الذين هددوا بنتائج وخيمة للذين يُلقى عليهم القبض وهم يعبرون عن مشاعرهم في عيد المحبين (الفالنتاين). وقد حذر أفراد المجموعة من أن القديس فالنتاين كان قديساً مسيحياً، وأن الاحتفال بهذا اليوم هو ضد دينهم. كما هدد أفراد المجموعة بأن يقوموا فوراً بتزويج المحبين الذين يلقى القبض عليهم.
اكتسحت مشاهد المتشددين وهم يضايقون المحبين المساكين مخيلة جميع الطلاب، الذين أجمعوا على أن هذه المهزلة لا يمكن أن تحصل إلا في المملكة العربية السعودية.
كان طلابي على خطأ، لإن الحادث وقع في الهند، والإله المعني هنا إله هندوسي.
في المقال الثاني الذي أعطيت لطلابي، احتجّت امرأة من أن “الطالبان الأغبياء” هجموا عليها فوراً بعد أن أوقفها رجل غريب في الشارع ليبدي إعجابه بجمال رضيعها. وبعدما ذهب الرجل في حال سبيه، أحاطت بها ثلاث سيارات كبيرة وقفز منها رجال ملتحون وبدأوا يستجوبونها في الشارع عن الرجل الغريب.
انقسم طلابي هذه المرة إلى نصفين بين المملكة العربية السعودية وأفغانستان.
تحطمت تلك الصور الذهنية لدى الطلاب عندما اكتشفوا أن لجنة “الأمر بالمعروف والنهي عن المنكر” كانت تجوب بسياراتها شوارع نيويورك، وأن الدين الذي كانوا يدافعون عنه هو اليهودية.
أثبت العلم أن قرد الشامبانزي مستعد للذهاب إلى حرب من أجل حماية حدود منطقته. لكن العدوان تجاه الآخرين لأنهم لا يشاركونك معتقداتك لا يعدو كونه حرباً على حدود فكرية، تجعل من الإيمان الديني عبارة عن خط فكري معلق في الهواء.
التطرف ليس سوى مجموعة من أجهزة إرسال عصبية تعمل بشكل زائد. ليس الدين الإسلامي أو اليهودي أو الهندوسي هو الذي يسبب التطرف. بل الذي يسببه أشخاص لديهم قابلية التطرف تحت أي معتقد كان.

I made a mistake by thinking translation projects are fully achievable upon the delivery of the translated work with no prior coordination with the author or the publisher about translation rights. I did it with Ichiro Kishimi’s famous book “the courage to be disliked” https://bit.ly/3upcK8Y, just to be surprised eventually that the translation rights had been already sold! Eventually, I found out the book is already being supplied in the market by “The Arabic Cultural Center – المركز الثقافي العربي” https://bit.ly/3v4kAnw. It’s dumb to embark on any translation to no avail. I have learnt something as well as enjoyed translating a book that provides fully new perspectives in the psychological self-development.
