I am a native English speaker from the UK, bilingual in Spanish (from Spain) and resident in Spain, where I am registered as a self-employed translator. My qualifications are:
- MA (Hons.) Hispanic Studies (Spanish, Portuguese & Catalan), University of Glasgow (2000).
- Dip. Trans Spanish - English (General Business, Legal), Institute of Linguists, UK (2004)
- Dip. Trans English - Spanish (General), UNED, Spain (2003).
I have worked as a freelance translator since 2000 and have covered a huge range of genres in all of my language pairs, from contracts to adventure novels, annual reports to DIY websites, cookbooks to video games. I have worked for many major and long-term clients such as ManoMano, Banco Santander, CaixaBank, Government of the Dominican Republic, Junta de Andalucía, Atdec, Mairie d'Argeles-sur-Mer, and many more.
I'm always open to discussion, I'm flexible in meeting my clients' requirements and would never accept a translation job in a field outwith my areas of expertise.
Besides work as a freelance translator and localisation tester, I am a DELTA qualified teacher trainer, certified Cambridge and Trinity language examiner, Masters-qualified Egyptologist, SCUBA diving instructor and first aid trainer.
