Nov 11, 2020 (posted viaProZ.com): Just completing part one of a shareholders' agreement which is to be split into a million sections to be worked on by a million linguists with an insane deadline by a very large translation agency, at an agreed rate, just had an email saying the agency miscalculated the word count and that since the project is so much bigger than they thought, they have to reduce the rate by 1.5 cents per word, I can either accept this revised rate for the work I have already carried out, or I will be paid the full agreed rate for the work I have done but the rest of the wordcount to be assigned to me will be assigned to another linguist...I am raging! ...more »

Bilingual Lawyer/linguist with 20 years' experience as a lawyer and 11 years as a freelance translator from an Anglo/French family.
I translate many different kinds of documents for my clients: from academic legal works to general legal contracts, pleadings, Court Orders, service contracts, residential and commercial leases and real estate contracts, Articles of Association, Family law matters, Genral Sales Conditions, Procurement procédures, Tender Documents, etc.
I have considerable experience in the domains of law, business, defence, finance and economics, technical translations and the environment.
Recently I have worked for the French Army, The British Foreign and Commonwealth Office, EDF, Fendi, LVMH, Renault, I am the FR<>EN translator for Globe International, an organisation lobbying for legislation related to Climate Change, I am also affiliated with Translators without Borders for whom I work regularly.
My work rate is around 4000 careful words per day, always willing to work evenings and weekends to fit in with my clients' deadlines and happy to carry out a test translation.
