After more research I've changed my mind and no longer believe the phrase dirigeant allume is a FR metaphor, sorry. Another suggestion as I read this as meaning "passionné".
At my grand age, I still prefer "inspiring" and "inspirational" to "inspiring", but I reckon "inspir-" really conveys the idea here.
