français term

pathologies associées

français vers anglais Médecine Médecine (général) achalasie
Hello!
could you help me with this term?

Il parait important de rechercher des *pathologies associées* à l'achalasie chez ces nourrissons et légitime de leur proposer un traitement médical par inhibiteurs calciques en première intention.

Thank you in advance!

associated comorbidities

That is one way you can put it, the other translations are not off the mark, either.
Peer comment(s):

neutral liz askew : I would never translate "pathologies" as comorbidities. Seriously.//But, hey, what do I know about medicine??

neutral Caroline Mackay-Sim (X) : same here

symptomes and effects associated with

Hi
I initially would have thought the same as Liz but my Larousse says that pathologie(which I've always thought meant illness or disease ) means 'ensemble des manifestations d'une maladie, des effets morbides qu'elle entraine'
so that slightly changes things - its not the diseases that are associated or linked to alchalasie but rather its symptomes etc.Hope this helps

associated conditions

I would prefer conditions in this case. It is used quit a lot.
Example sentence:

It would seem important to look for associated conditions of achalasia in ...
