français term

diffusions effectives

français vers anglais Autre Gestion Crisis management procedures

Discussion

tradu-grace Mar 30, 2009:
joenlindsay I do agree with joenlindsay entry to also consider something like<BR>"ensuring all staff are duly informed". My answer: "disclosure" instead of circulation is just an option and I guess it is closer to the italian "divulgazione" which it is probably more used in other context. There's a subtle difference.
mchd Mar 27, 2009:
effective circulation that's it Mark !
joehlindsay Mar 27, 2009:
Yes I think you have the correct understanding. This might be one of those cases where you need to change the syntax around a bit to get natural English. Instead of using the term, consider taking it apart and saying something like 'ensuring all staff are duly informed" etc.

"effective circulation" is my current translation but I wanted to check I was not missing something

duly distributed

I think I'd use distribution rather than circulation as the latter suggests (to me) that the information can fall into anyone's hands, whereas distribution is made only to the people actually concerned.

...rules/regulations drafted/drawn up and duly distributed

and you could use 'made effective' for 'concrétiser' - which I always hate translating :-)

4 KudoZ points awarded for this answer. Comment: "Thanks Emma - and for the "concrétiser" suggestion - very helpful."
11 minutes

(physical) distribution

the procedure must be based on rules and making sure that all concerned are aware of these rules and their content - notices on the noticeboards.......

PROPER distribution was what I meant to write - clearly it's past my bedtime

effective disclosure

just another option

correctly communicated

I think the implication is that everything needs to be understood by all concerned. Communicated would imply distribution, etc. I think, and convey the concept of getting to everyone, IMO. Maybe there is a better adjective than 'correctly' also - 'properly', or 'effectively', if that is not a too literal word-for-word translation.
