Texte source - anglais The problem of being awkward with introductions is not, for many, an “unusual situation.” You may find that you are often uncertain about whether to introduce someone using their first name, last name, or both; about whether to use a qualifier (“this is my friend, ______”); even about whether or not it is in fact your responsibility to introduce two people in a given situation. But all of this is small potatoes compared with the seemingly inevitable mingling nightmare of having to introduce someone whose name you have forgotten.
It’s one thing to forget someone’s name if you’ve met them only once or twice, or if you haven’t seen them in a while. But all too often it’s someone whose name you really should know, and who is going to be insulted to find out you don’t. In other words, a faux pas in the making.
This is absolute agony when it happens, and I’ve watched hundreds of minglers try to deal with different ways, ranging from exuberant apology (“Oh GOD, I’m so sorry, JEEZ, wow, I can’t believe I’ve forgotten your name!”) to throwing up their hands and walking away. But there are better ways to deal with this kind of mental slip. Next time you draw a blank while making introductions, try the following ploy:
Force them to introduce themselves. This is the smoothest and most effective way to handle your memory lapse. When it’s done well, no one will ever suspect you. If you have forgotten one person’s name in the group, turn to that person first and smile. Then turn invitingly to a person whose name you do remember and say, “This is Linden Bond,” turning back casually toward the forgotten person. The person whose name you haven’t mentioned yet will automatically (it’s a reflex) say “Nice to meet you, Linden, I’m Sylvia Cooper,” and usually offer a hand to shake.

- Quelle est la question qu’il ne faut jamais poser ?
- C’est paradoxalement la question que l’on entend le plus fréquemment au cours d’une partie… « Combien, de boules vous reste-t-il ? » Elle est, à mon avis, de celles qui déclassent un joueur et dévaluent une équipe. Car, à tout moment, il faut savoir non seulement le nombre de boules de l’adversaire, mais encore et surtout dans quelles mains elles sont. De la réponse à cette question dépend très souvent la tactique à adopter. Sachant qu’il vaut mieux faire tirer un pointeur et pointer un tireur…
Au sujet de cette fameuse question à ne pas poser, je me souviens d’une anecdote qui date de quelques années… Au cours d’une partie de début de concours, un des joueurs de la formation qui nous était opposée se tourna vers mon frère Jean et lui demanda : « Vous avez combien de boules ? ». Jean lui répondit sans sourciller : « Deux ! »… Après un moment d’hésitation, celui qui avait posé « la question qui ne se pose pas » de revenir à la charge : « Comment deux, il ne vous en reste qu’une… »
Et Jean de répondre sur le ton de la galéjade : « Oui, une ! Mais dans les mains de mon frère, elle en vaut… deux ! »

The wrestling they watched on their black-and-white television sets on Saturday afternoons represented a brief intrusion of life and colour in their otherwise monochrome lives. Their work overalls were faded, the sofa cover—unchanged for years—was faded, their memories of the people they had been before coming to England were fading too. My parents, their whole generation, treadmilled away the best years of their lives toiling in factories for shoddy paypackets. A life of drudgery, of deformed spines, of chronic arthritis, of severed hands. They bit their lips and put up with the pain. They had no option but to. In their minds they tried to switch off—to ignore the slights of co-workers, not to bridle against the glib cackling of foremen, and, in the case of Indian women, not to fret when they were slapped about by their husbands. Put up with the pain, they told themselves, deal with the pain—the shooting pains up the arms, the corroded hip joints, the back seizures from leaning over sewing machines for too many years, the callused knuckles from handwashing clothes, the rheumy knees from scrubbing the kitchen floor with their husbands' used underpants.
When my parents sat down to watch the wrestling on Saturday afternoons, milky cardamon tea in hand, they wanted to be entertained, they wanted a laugh. But they also wanted the good guy, just for once, to triumph over the bad guy. They wanted the swaggering, braying bully to get his come-uppance. They prayed for the nice guy, lying there on the canvas, trapped in a double-finger interlock or clutching his kidneys in agony, not to submit. If only he could hold out just a bit longer, bear the pain, last the course. If only he did these things, chances were, wrestling being what it was, that he would triumph. It was only a qualified victory, however. You'd see the winner, exhausted, barely able to wave to the crowd. The triumph was mainly one of survival.

Pharmacodynamics
The mechanism of action of NAFADOL, as with other drugs used to treat schizophrenia, is unknown. WARNINGS
Tardive Dyskinesia
A syndrome of potentially irreversible, involuntary, dyskinetic movements may develop in patients treated with antipsychotic drugs. Although the prevalence of the syndrome appears to be highest among the elderly, especially elderly women, it is impossible to rely upon prevalence estimates to predict, at the inception of antipsychotic treatment, which patients are likely to develop the syndrome. Whether antipsychotic drug products differ in their potential to cause tardive dyskinesia is unknown.The risk of developing tardive dyskinesia and the likelihood that it will become irreversible are believed to increase as the duration of treatment and the total cumulative dose of antipsychotic drugs administered to the patient increase. However, the syndrome can develop, although much less commonly, after relatively brief treatment periods at low doses.

The laser sheath consists of optical fibers arranged in a circle, sandwiched between inner and outer polymer tubing. The fibers terminate at the distal end within a polished tip and at the proximal end within the coupler that mates with the excimer laser system. At the distal tip, the fibers are protected by inner and outer stainless steel bands, which form a radiopaque marker. The inner lumen of the device is designed to allow a pacing lead to pass through it, as the device slides over the lead towards the tip of the lead in the heart.
2. Indications for Use
The laser sheath is intended for use as an adjunct to conventional lead extraction tools in patients suitable for transvenous removal of chronically implanted pacing or defibrillator leads constructed with silicone or polyurethane outer insulation.
3. Contraindications
Use of the Laser Sheath is contraindicated:
· When emergency thoracotomy with cardiopulmonary bypass can not be performed immediately in the event of a life threatening complication;
· When fluoroscopy is not available;
· In patients in whom superior venous approach cannot be used;
· When the proximal end of the pacing lead is not accessible to the operator;
· When the lead will not fit into the inner lumen of the laser sheath.
Clinical Technique
1. Patients prepared for lead extractions are prepared for multiple approaches, including an emergency cardiac surgical procedure. Preparations may include: general endotracheal anesthesia or conscious sedation, shave and preparation of both the chest and groin areas, ECG monitoring, insertion of an arterial line and a Foley catheter, presence of instruments for pacing and defibrillation, an electrosurgical unit, and a sternal saw for emergencies.
2. A temporary pacing lead is inserted in all patients needing a pacemaker. An exception is made for patients with an implanted permanent pacemaker whose leads are not to be extracted.
3. Fluoroscopy will be used to monitor all transvenous maneuvers.
4. Expose the proximal end of the lead. Debride overgrowth from the lead as required to expose the venous entry site. Sever the lead connector and remove the anchoring sleeve.

· Atunci când nu se poate efectua fluoroscopia;
· La pacienţii la care nu se poate folosi o abordare pe cale venoasă superioară;
· Atunci când capătul proximal al derivaţiei pacing-ului nu este accesibil operatorului;
· Atunci când derivaţia nu corespunde lumenului interior al tecii cu transmisie laser
Tehnica clinică
1. Pacienţii pregătiţi pentru extragerea derivaţiilor sunt pregătiţi pentru mai multe abordări, inclusiv intervenţia chirurgicală cardiacă de urgenţă. Function
Cans enter the Decorator from an overhead single-filer and then drop into the infeed track. Forced air from the Jet Board plenum carries the cans quickly and smoothly through the infeed track. As the cans exit the infeed track, the loading guides and loading strip direct them into individual pockets on the pocket wheel.
Components
The infeed unit consists of the following components:
• Infeed track—receives incoming cans from the single-filer and brings the cans into position under the loading guides.
• Air blower and plenum—push cans through the infeed track.

1. This Directive shall apply to the transport of dangerous goods by road, by rail or by inland waterway within or between Member States, including the activities of loading and unloading, transfer to or from another mode of transport and the stops necessitated by the circumstances of the transport.
It shall not apply to the transport of dangerous goods:
– (a) by vehicles, wagons and vessels belonging to or under the responsibility of the armed forces;
– (b) by seagoing vessels on maritime waterways forming part of inland waterways;
– (c) by ferries only crossing an inland waterway or harbour; or
– (d) wholly performed within the perimeter of an enclosed area.
2. Within one year after the entry into force of this Directive, Member States may decide not to apply the provisions of Annex III.1 for one of the following reasons:
– (a) they have no inland waterways;
– (b) their inland waterways are not linked, by inland waterway, to the waterways of other Member States; or
– (c) no dangerous goods are transported on their inland waterways.
If a Member State decides not to apply the provisions of Annex III.1, it shall notify that decision to the Commission, which shall inform the other Member States.
3. This Directive shall not affect the Member State's right to lay down specific safety requirements for the national or international transport of dangerous goods within their territories, in so far as they are not covered by this Directive.

Domeniul de aplicare
1. Prezenta directivă se aplică la transportul rutier, feroviar sau naval de mărfuri periculoase între sau dintre statele membre, inclusiv activităţile de încărcare şi descărcare, transfer dinspre sau înspre altă metodă de transport, precum şi staţionările impuse de circumstanţele de transport.
Nu se aplică la transportul de mărfuri periculoase:
– (a) cu vehicule, vagoane şi nave aparţinând forţelor armate sau aflate în responsabilitatea acestora;
– (b) cu nave maritime pe căi navigabile maritime care fac parte din căile navigabile interioare;
– (c) cu feriboturi care traversează numai căi navigabile interioare sau un port; sau
– (d) efectuat integral în perimetrul unei zone închise.
2. În termen de un an de la data intrării în vigoare a acestei directive, statele membre pot decide să nu aplice prevederile anexei III.1 pentru unul din următoarele motive:
– (a) nu deţin căi navigabile interioare;
– (b) căile navigabile interioare ale acestora nu sunt legate, prin căi navigabile interioare, la căile navigabile ale altor state membre; sau
– (c) nu se transportă mărfuri periculoase pe căile navigabile interioare ale acestora.
Dacă un stat membru decide să nu aplice dispoziţiile anexei III.1, acesta va informa Comisia de decizia acestuia, care la rândul ei informează celelalte state membre.
3. Prezenta directivă nu aduce atingere dreptului statului membru de a stabili cerinţe specifice de siguranţă pentru transportul naţional şi internaţional de mărfuri periculoase pe teritoriul acestuia, în măsura în care acestea nu sunt reglementate de prezenta directivă.
