PTA

français vers anglais Affaires / Finance Télécommunications
The phrase occurs in a lengthy paper of the French company SFR that describes employee computer interface with clients of what appear to be mobile telephone services.

Discussion

Maureen Wilkins (X) Mar 24, 2007:
Hi Thomas - From the extra information you've given, I think the first two letters stand for "plan tarifaire". Could it be "plan tarifaire agréé" or something similar? Previously Agreed Tariff? I've found some Google hits on that.
Thomas Ochiltree (asker) Mar 24, 2007:
More context In describing how several customer related "events" are linked, the text says, "le changement du mobile est intrinsèquement lié au changement de PTA." The heading is "Exemple; RM Série limitée" and a glossary accompanying the original gives for RM "renouvellement mobile = mobile upgrade". So if you go for a different cellphone, you have to change your PTA. Does this help in terms of defining PTA?
Thomas Ochiltree (asker) Mar 24, 2007:
I offer the following from the text: under the heading "Changement de plan tarifaire, modification des options et services, ajout de lots GCR": "en fonction des ses habilitations, l'utilisateur [of the system, an employee such as this manual is addressed to] peut visualiser les PTA et les produits qui seront installés à echéance." The PTA is clearly something the customer chooses. Unfortunately I only have been assigned to second half of the document so I am unaware of many of the details relating to it as a whole.

Could also be "subscribed rate plan" (if d'abonné), but the acronym doesn't change.

Technical and Administrative Prescriptions

Selon le contexte, ça ressemble à ça...

"Modification of technical and administrative prescriptions
As of 25 September 2006, OFCOM will be putting out for consultation the draft amendment of various technical and administrative regulations (RS 784.101.112/ annex 2; RS 784.101.113 / annexes 1.1, 2.3, 2.5, 2.6, 2.8, 2.10, 2.12 et 2.14)."
"Among these changes, the decommissioning of certain short numbers without formal allocation, the new arrangements concerning call routing to 18xy short numbers and the strengthened terms and conditions for preselection requests by telephone should be noted."
