Is this sentence missing a "que"?
Non-PRO
français vers anglais
Autre
Général / conversation / salutations / correspondance
It seems to me that a "que" is missing to correspond with the "ne":
Perhaps it should read "...qu'uniquement dans le(s) magasins...". Qu'est-ce que vous en pensez?

It is wrong IMNSHO
To correct it
take out 'ne'
or
change 'uniquement' to 'que'

I'd take out 'ne' actually because otherwise the distance between ne and que is too high - presumably this was the author's thinking too

Note from asker:
Thank you kindly, Andy. Succinctly helpful. :) |
2 KudoZ points awarded for this answer.
Comment: "Both suggestions were helpful and consistent - I wish I could divide the points. But since Andy answered first, and he proposed a nuance of criteria for how to decide, I must select his answer for Kudoz points. I know it's SUGGESTED that we wait 24 hours, but I'm happy with these answers, and don't want to keep receiving new answer notifications while working on this (deadline, concentration, etc.). I awarded 2 points because it's native language grammar, not coming up with a translation. I think that's the convention here on ProZ. Thanks to both of you!!!!!!"

writeaway
: yes-I think it may be a case of bad editing-they decided to change to uniquement and forgot to remove the ne ... As you say, they ended up with a mixture instead.
