anglais translation: control logic

traduction français vers anglais [Général]
Tech/Engineering - Électronique / génie électronique / Shipboard installations, EN – UK
Terme ou expression en français : logiques de commande,
"Plan d’éclairage incluant les intensités lumineuses par zone, les points et logiques de commande"

Traduction en anglais :control logic
Explication :
Do note it is 'points de commande' + 'logiques de commande'
Usually, this refers to the logic used to determine how the lighting is controlled.

I don't really know why they have sued 'logiques' in the plural; although there might be more than one 'logic' in any given system, it is not always necessary to actually state that in EN. Unless this is referring to a certain group of specific 'logiques'

The sort of thing is usually "IF motion detector shows room occupied AND IF outside daylight < THRESHOLD, THEN lighting on" --- obviously a great deal more complex than that in a complicated system!

But as Daryo points out, it could also be some kind of situation-specific shorthand for 'logic control modules' etc. --- though normally I'd expect this sort of system to operate from one or a small number of co-ordinated centralized control units.

Thanks Tony. My text contains quite a few examples of adjectives that don't agree, singular and plural being muddled etc. So, I think I'll use the singular "control logic".

  -> Thanks, Phil!

Accord  Daryo: I think that here "logic" is meant as hardware (containing inside the software that is also "control logic"), so it might be several "logics" in the installation.

  -> Thank, Daryo! Even in that sense, it's unusual in EN to use 'logic' in the plural, unless it is 'logic circuits' or 'logic modules' etc.
