I've tried to adjust my Proz.com profile now I'm here, but it's a whole new world out here for me, as I'd never even been to Canada before moving here, so any top tips from experience Canadian translators would be very much welcome!

My advice would be to join the STBIC (Society of Translators and Interpreters of British Columbia - http://www.stibc.org). That way you can meet colleagues, participate in activities, and possibly consider becoming certified. You could also consider joining the Vancouver Chamber of Commerce (http://www.bcchamber.org) for more or less the same reasons, including networking etc. Once you are certified, you could also contact immigration organizations, registry offices, etc., to let them know of your services. I hope this is a start for you. ▲ Collapse
