espagnol vers anglais: Excerpt from Luis Camnitzer's Socialism of Creativity Vs. Capitalism of Creativity. General field: Art / Littérature Detailed field: Art, artisanat et peinture
Texte source - espagnol Let’s start here with considering that playing is a waste of time. In our world we need practical knowledge in order to survive. Therefore it’s not just play that is a waste, it’s also the acquisition of any useless information that lacks possibility of application. This acquisition is nothing more than an extension of playing: an infantile activity designed for adults. The child in Kindergarten could already be engaged in something useful, manual abilities that eventually will permit functioning in the market environment. There is no need to wait until first grade to learn how to read and write, many families encourage their children much earlier, and the sooner that is done, the earlier the child may focus on useful knowledge.
