Roody Barthèlemy is a certified court Interpreter with the Fifteenth Judicial Circuit Court of Palm Beach County. As a professional translator and interpreter, he has more than 20 years of experience serving in the languages of Haitian Creole, French, and English. Prior to his translation and interpreting career, he has taught French literature and History for several years as a secondary school teacher.


In the past, Mr. Barthèlemy has worked with the School District of Palm Beach County for more than eighteen years as an ESOL Instructor, a Multicultural Trainer, and a Language Translator/Interpreter. He is an original member of the District’s Creole Translation Team to which he has served as a leader in many instances. In addition, he has participated in the training of more than 400 school-based community language facilitators.


In addition to being an educator and a translator, Mr. Barthèlemy is an essayist and a published author. He has also presented at the national level on the issues of community translation and interpreting at the 37th Annual ATA Conference in San Francisco, CA. He has contributed several articles with international and local publications such as Florida’s The Palm Beach Post. His works also counts a number of publications, both individually and collectively.
