Please make sure your system meets the following requirements before installing XXX.

Before opening and installing the XXX software, please read the license agreement in Appendix F of the XXX User Guide. Opening the CD-ROM package means you concur with the license agreement terms. After the XXX card installation, the Windows Add New Hardware wizard will automatically detect the card. For Windows ME, 2000 and XP, the drivers for the 1394 card are already on your system. If you are using Windows 98 Second Edition, please insert the Windows 98 SE CD when requested and follow any on-screen instructions.

No substantial changes in the Amsterdam Treaty
The Treaty of Amsterdam did not bring about major institutional advances in the area of CFSP. Those who thought that the new treaty could be a decisive step forward on the way to a real common foreign policy are bound to wait for an unlikely future breakthrough. An enhanced CFSP is still far to come.
In the new treaty the main changes concern:
the inclusion of "common strategies" to be added to "common positions" and "joint actions". For the former unanimity is required while for the latter two only qualified majority is needed. It is foreseen the constructive abstention of Member States but also a sort of a veto right for matters dealing with vital national interests. In any case it will be difficult to decide what is a common strategy and what is a common position or a joint action. The viability of the new CFSP will probably depend on that: if common strategies prevail the situation will remain as it is now. For those who are not yet used to eurocratic terminology a common position is a declaration on a specific matter that could lead to a joint action. In 1997 13 common positions were adopted and 16 joint actions undertaken.

Ceux qui pensaient que le nouveau traité pouvait être un pas en avant décisif vers une véritable politique étrangère commune vont devoir prendre leur mal en patience, une amélioration significative de la PESC est toujours loin de voir le jour.
Les principaux changements du nouveau traité portent sur :
la création d’un nouvel instrument, les « stratégies communes », venant s’ajouter aux « positions communes » et aux « actions communes ». L’unanimité est exigée pour le premier alors que seule la majorité qualifiée est nécessaire pour les deux autres. L’abstention constructive des États membres est à prévoir, tout comme une sorte de droit de veto pour les sujets relatifs aux principaux intérêts nationaux. Dans tous les cas, il sera difficile de différencier une stratégie commune d’une position commune ou d’une action commune. Les chances de succès de la nouvelle PESC dépendront sans doute des stratégies communes : si elles s’imposent, la situation restera la même. Pour ceux qui ne sont toujours pas habitués à la terminologie eurocratique, une position commune est une déclaration sur un sujet particulier qui peut déboucher sur une action commune. En 1997, treize positions communes ont été adoptées et seize actions communes ont été engagées.

Unfortunately, too many companies are stuck with the limitations of legacy client-server applications—leaving them unable to adapt to rising customer expectations.
Initially, legacy CRM vendors attempted to solve the problem by building separate applications to handle new web and e-mail communication channels or by adding a browser “front end” to existing applications. Other companies have emerged that offer “point solutions” such as e-mail response management and online chat applications. However, none of these solutions provides the dynamic, integrated, multi-channel view of the customer necessary to meet today’s contact center requirements.
Success in the Customer Economy requires more than a “Web-enabled” client-server product. Success depends on gaining insight into customers and acting on that insight. The applications built on XXX Service are based on an entirely Web-based, multi-tier architecture, delivering the Real Time, scalability, flexibility, and interoperability of a true Internet application infrastructure.

Par ailleurs, d’autres sociétés sont apparues qui proposent des solutions « ponctuelles » comme la gestion des réponses e-mail ou des applications de messagerie instantanée. Aucune de ces solutions n’offre toutefois la vision dynamique, intégrée et multivoie du client, nécessaire aujourd’hui pour répondre aux exigences d’un centre de relation clientèle.
Réussir dans l’économie relationnelle nécessite plus qu’une simple application Internet client-serveur. Le succès dépend du degré de connaissance des besoins du client et de l’usage qui en est fait. Les applications XXX Service reposent sur une architecture Internet multicouche offrant l’évolutivité, la flexibilité et l’interopérabilité en temps réel d’une véritable infrastructure d’application Internet.
