I am also a chartered engineer, and prior to devoting my time to translation I worked in engineering for 20 years in various countries around the world.

Being an expert in technical translations means that you must strive to keep abreast of the new technologies and terms that appear almost daily. This is why I make a point of frequently visiting a selection of specialist newsgroups and web sites on the internet, in both English and French, to ensure that translated documents always contain the correct and up-to-date terms.

Advice to would-be customers: for a high quality, professional translation, provide a professionally written original. You can't make a silk purse out of a sow's ear!

Weekends: 120 euros
Rush jobs ( > 3000 words/day ): 120 euros

Special rates for agencies with regular requirements.
Rates for new or highly specialized technology subjects are negotiable after inspection of samples. (The rate will be at least equal to the technical rate.)

Rates apply to invoices of 50 euros or more.
Smaller jobs are subject to individual one-off prices.

Capacity: average 2500 words/day, depending on content.
