An overwhelming majority of what happening in our mind is formed pivoting around cultural backgrounds or let us say born in cultural backgrounds.Cognitive schemata are formed culturally thereby determine our interpretaion of the world , and alter the directions of our performances.
The schemata are in reality organized experience and pre-set or so called wrapped knowledge which create the cognitive framework in the culture. The noted framework consisting of mentalties or attitudes, imaginations, mental images , values and emotions is a direct result of such schemata.
The metaphors, unopposed to schemata,facilitate human's concept organization and field specification concerning the surrounding world he leads life in. Therefore, the metaphors and schemata play a key role in our cognitive system . Also, they help us organize abstarct concepts and new information based on objective-subjective(empirical-practical) concepts and conceptual-cognitive frameworks and cultural presuppositions. Piaget trying to discover children world contended that a child's thinking, imagination and acquisition varies radically from what relates to the adults as well as the fact that every step of growth has its own particular structure. As to this field, he make a mention of scientific, symbolic and conceptual schmata.
This article analyzes and criticizes Children literature drawing on Lakoff and Jhonson's metaphor theory and schema theory and their relation to experience , transfer, adapting, culture, and cognition.
