I am a retired professor of French and comparative literature with a good deal of translation experience. I translated Helene Cixous's "Laugh of the Medusa," which has been reprinted in 25 anthologies throughout the English-speaking world. My translation of A HISTORY OF VIRILITY appeared from Columbia University Press in February 2016. My current project is the translation of a book on African history.
