Texte source - anglais In 1708 the East India Company was formed by a merger of two rival companies to trade with the “Indies”. It was to become the strongest European power on the coast of India, able to enforce its will on the native rulers.
By the middle of the 18th century, over two thirds of that vast sub-continent was ruled by the company.
As a result, there were large numbers of British troops and ex-patriot civilians in colonial India. Malaria was a problem, and the only known preventative was to drink massive amounts of quinine. Quinine drunk neat is extremely bitter, so a variety of concoctions were dreamt up to make the required dose palatable.
One solution was to add a bit of gin to the medicine, and so the gin and tonic was born.
Now, vast numbers of expatriate British drinking vast amounts of gin created a problem: there simply wasn’t enough gin in India.

that we should introduce ourselves as a language services company formed by
professionals with different mother tongues and extensive experience in
different specialised areas of translation, interpreting and multilingual
project management. In practice, however, Globalingua was founded as the dream
of two people with a deep understanding of their sector who sought to create
their own project to meet the translation needs of different types of
companies. This dream encompassed not only a business project, but also the
creation of a work methodology to allow us to offer greater quality and
efficiency in our daily work.
We began our
journey in 2013 in Vigo (Galicia). Since then, we have progressively grown,
expanding our team of translators and increasing our presence by opening a
second office in A Coruña. Our current plan is to continue to carefully
calculate each step and action to enable us to build on the solid foundation
that Globalingua Translation is today. This sustained growth has allowed us to
commit to developing our whole team’s abilities through a continuous
improvement project, which involves both polishing different working languages
and training to use and mastering the latest translation technology. By doing
