This evolution, coupled with the increased variation of heterogeneous products in use, number of objects managed, and the resulting network topology expansion have required SRM vendors to employ a wide array of techniques to manage the discovery and monitoring of the elements in the storage infrastructure.
In contrast to the network space, where standardized protocols and techniques have been in use for decades, the SAN space has seen a slow, steady adoption of standard interfaces, such as the Storage Networking Industry Association’s (SNIA) Storage Management Initiative Specification (SMI-S) and the emerging cloud standards.
XXX YYY leverages a leading edge software architecture that is specifically targeted at addressing management challenges, from the smallest storage environments to the largest global enterprise data centers, while reducing the customer’s overall capital and operational investments.
