I am a native speaker of American English. I was born in the New York City area, and completed my 12 years of Elementary School, Junior High School and High School in the same community. I did undergraduate work at three American universities. I bring a strong knowledge of the English language, its use of irony, ambiguity and metaphor to both the field of translating and editing.

I worked a 9-5 job, so to speak, that involved sales & marketing, research, writing, editing & proofreading in the United States from 1974-2008. I began freelance editing and translating in September 2009. I now bring that experience to translating and editing with a real strength in computers & IT in general, sales & marketing, academic publications and technical documentation and manuals.

I have been involved with in-depth research, and writing about Classical culture, marketing, science & technology, education, politics & government, economic & finance, and U.S. & European history.

I have worked on projects on French medieval and renaissance culture, French history of science, French-American relations starting with Benjamin Franklin, all of which involved some translation from French to English.
