Elaine Sutton specialises in business, legal and financial work, technical and industrial applications, environmental studies, economic development and communications, film and video(including voiceovers)


Elaine Sutton was born in London and gained a Masters Degree in Modern Languages at Cambridge University. She also has a postgraduate degree in Television Production and Direction. She lived in Paris for 14 years where she worked in television, publishing, public relations and industry. She headed the international communications department of a Paris based corporate group for 4 years before coming to New Caledonia in 1997 where she continued working as a full-time freelance translator. She was based in the UK from 2004 to 2006 and has been resident in the south of France since October 2006.
Recent clients include: Barclay Mowlem, EEC, ENERCAL, Vale Inco, Xstrata Nickel, Koniambo Nickel SAS, Société le Nickel (SLN), Société Minère du Sud Pacifique (SMSP), FORAPAC, GAN, Government of New Caledonia, IRD, ITSEE, Méridien Hotel Group, Ramada Hotels, OPT-NC (Telecom), RFO, Shell, QANTAS, Air Calédonie, ANZ Bank, New Caledonia Tourist Board (including translation and supervision of a weekly English language newspaper).

She is also responsible for website localization and translation for the Pézenas Enchantée Festival of Operatic Art.
