I have been a steady partner of McGraw-Hill (Mexico) since 1986, as a free-lance translator, editor, and copyeditor for their University and Health Sciences Divisions. I have translated, edited, or copyedited Medicine and Biology textbooks for the Health Sciences Division and textbooks on Telecommunications, Finance, Marketing, Accounting, Organizational Behaviour, and Coaching for the University Division.

During the period 1992-1995, I held a position as Manager of Translations and Copyediting for the Health Sciences Division of McGraw-Hill (Mexico), managing a program of about 200 publications per year.

During the period 1992-1998, I worked as a free-lance translator for the Medical Direction of Wyeth-Ayerst (Mexico), translating both technical and managerial documents from English to Spanish and from Spanish to English.

During the period 1995-2001, I translated books for Pearson Education (formerly Prentice-Hall), particularly in the field of Computing.

I have also worked for corporations such as Reader's Digest Mexico, Pfizer Inc., Schering AG, International Thomson, and Editorial Grijalbo.

The combined use of Office 2003, CAT tools (TRADOS/Wordfast), and voice-recognition software (Dragon NaturallySpeaking 7.0) allows me to produce 5000+ words daily, depending on the complexity of the material at hand. Dragon can also be used in almost any Windows program, should it be required.
