I have been a freelance translator for close to twenty years during which time I was on a six-year sabbatical upgrading my skills in IT and technical writing.

As a translator, I view the ability to conduct, decipher and efficiently filter research on the Internet an essential tool to acquire, hone and perfect in today's translating sector. This skill allows translators to tackle almost any project on any subject and to render accurate translations.

I have managed voluminous translation projects as translator, editor/proofreader and terminologist, working with not-for-profit organizations based mainly in Europe.

I have studied and lived on both sides of the Atlantic and therefore have intimate knowledge and vast experience studying and working in UK English, US English, French, French-Canadian, Traditional (Castilian) Spanish and Latin American Spanish.

I also have extensive experience in composing, producing and editing/proofreading complex documents such as presentations, newsletters, bulletins and brochures, using Adobe Creative Suite (which includes InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator), PowerPoint, QuarkXpress, MS Publisher.

I am also proficient in video subtitling, including audio transcription to translation, to time-coding and finally with either embedding the subtitles directly into the video or creating the files, such as .smi and .srt to link the subtitle file to the video.

I use various CAT tools such as Across, MemoQ and SDL Trados Studio 2011.
