Médecine
Médecine : soins de santé
MES has been answered before, but none of the answers fit this context. This is from a lovely, handwritten occupational therapy report from a hospital in Québec. The patient is 87 years old and has just had surgery to repair a right hip fracture.
The context is as follows:
M. á voir en ergo ce jour pour enseignements des procédures et équipements/aides techniques, mais pas de MES ce jour...
And again:
M. n'est pas prêt avec MES au jour 2 post-op. Comprend bien les enseignements faits par verbal / démonstration, mais pourraient être consolidés par MES lorsque aura amélioration physique et fonctionnelle.
I thought at first that it might be an error for MEC (weight-bearing), but now I don't think that's right. Does anyone have any ideas?
Thanks in advance!

myoelectric signal
This is a test that is done to evaluate the electrical signals within muscles. I am not quite sure how it works, but it is apparently used to better understand damage to muscles and nerves, and I would hazard a guess here: to monitor progress during therapy.
The link provided is very interesting and happens to be in both English and French.

Thanks for the suggestion Ryan, I'm not sure if it works in this context, but I am going to add to this to my references. |
