Text fields in Word 2007 : how to get rid of them

I have a document composed of titles and other paragraphs that I can modify and text fields that I can't change (apart from deleting the whole text).
How do I convert the whole document into a normal Word 2007 document without loosing all the text in the fields.

No this doesn't work. The whole field seems to be a single object that takes its field characteristics with it.
Incidently this was a questionnaire.

I mean, can you select the text inside, not the whole field, cut and paste? I vaguely remember, I had such a document and solved the problem this way (maybe I opened the file in OOo Writer to do that, not sure).

You gave me an idea-
I saved the text with "text opendocument" Now I can modify it.

So easy once you know!
