Report from  Camelia Colnic
So we met again and had a wonderful time together. We talked about our work, memberships, how to make our work easier and about the agencies who ask us to buy a certain software in order to be taken in consideration for a translation test.
Nadege talked about the Union Street working station and we found out that we could go there and work whenever we want. They do have a website http://www.union-st.org/ that you can check out if interested.
Colin mentioned about Sheffield Creative Guild, a service which is in the process of being set up. The website where you can find out more about it is http://www.sheffieldculture.co.uk/what-we-do/sheffield-creative-guild/ or https://sheffieldcreativeguild.com/
When we talked about different memberships, we mentioned ITI and IOL, but we heard about YTI (Yorkshire translators and interpreter) as well. Their website is http://yti.org.uk/. Thank you Chris! :)
The discussion then moved towards the idea of having another screen attached to the laptop or desktop so that the work we do is easier. It proves to be more efficient. Then we talked about movable desks. Chris gave us the website from where he got his, https://heightadjustabledesks.com/
I would like to thank you all for coming. I know that some of you came from Birmingham, others from nearby cities. I was really happy to see such a diversity in languages and experiences and to hear that over the years we got busier. I am looking forward to see you again next time.
