I cannot find a definition of what GAB stands for. The context is a standard operating procedure for microbiological testing.
The document refers to the currently valid "GAB-Bestimmungen" of the company in question.

It seems that this may be related to Employment Law in the former DDR (see § 106 II d of the DDR's employment law here: http://www.verfassungen.de/de/ddr/gesetzbuchderarbeit61.htm ).

As far as I can tell, "Bestimmungen über den Gesundheits- und Arbeitsschutz" is abbreviated as "GA" (sometimes "GAS"); if you add "sowie Brandschutz" you get "GAB" (also see: http://www.ddr89.de/ddr89/ab2.html ).

You may want to use something else for "Bestimmungen" instead of "rules," i.e. "provisions," "regulations" or even "by(-)laws."

I also do not think that these are necessarily statutory regulations, but rather rules set out by the company in question (note the wording of the statute I referred to above).
