Upcoming ( Jun 25 12:00 - Jun 25 17:00 GMT )
A virtual conference dedicated to the evolving world of interpreting in 2026. At its heart, the event is about interpreters finding fresh strength, refining their path, staying on the loop of AI advances, and reconnecting with purpose.

This year's theme is the "interpreter's journey: building resilience, finding renewal" which is about finding fresh strength, redefining your path, and reconnecting with purpose. It's a space to reflect on how interpreters adapt, grow, and renew their sense of meaning while staying confident and informed about new technologies and practices.
In this session, I will share my personal journey and experience of turning anonymity into recognition. The focus will be on practical ways to increase visibility: using social media thoughtfully, building genuine professional relationships, volunteering strategically, and participating in conferences and industry events. I will also touch on the uncertainties and challenges along the way, and what proved worthwhile in the long run.
This session is intended for interpreters who are looking for realistic, experience-based insights into how visibility and professional presence can develop over time.
This session approaches that reality from two angles.
First, understanding what's actually happening psychologically. The session will draw on lived experience on both sides of the shift, as a language professional navigating her own career disruption, and as someone who managed a freelance network and watched it contract sharply as AI entered the workflow. We'll discuss the patterns honestly: how rejection affects your professional identity, the erosion of confidence that comes from prolonged devaluation, and the specific burnout risk that builds when you're simultaneously overextending to stay visible and receiving little in return.
Second, and more practically, we'll look at what resilience actually is when the disruption isn't a moment but a new normal. We'll cover concrete strategies for protecting your energy and mental health through an extended period of uncertainty.
This session is for language professionals who are in it for the long haul and need strategies to stay grounded, protect their energy, and hold onto their sense of professional identity while the market catches up with their value.
