Texte source - anglais As data errors are generally used to weight individual measurements during the inversion and to quantify a reliable level of inverse model data misfit, an accurate assessment of error values is hence necessary to the efficiency of the method used hereinafter. Incorrect noise estimation can in fact result in two opposite solutions: gross smoothing of structure (that is a result of noise overestimation) or artificial image structure (as a consequence of noise underestimation). Binley et al. (1995) showed that a good estimate of errors may be achieved by the analysis of the reciprocal error (i.e., errors defined between the direct and reciprocal measurements collected in situ). In this way, for each quadrupole, measurements errors were calculated.
Forward models on a homogenous earth structure (100 Ohm m) were performed for a series of unstructured discretizations (meshes) to evaluate the accuracy of the numerical solution (model error). One main advantage in the use of unstructured mesh is the facilitation of refining grids within distinct regions (electrodes grid, inner and outer zones). The meshes were created by using Gmsh software (http://geuz.org/gmsh/), a three-dimensional finite element mesh generator.
The essential part of the data processing consisted of the errors computation (measurements and model). The smoothness of the calculated resistivity distribution depends on the level of the error in the data set, which may arise due to a variety of sources, such as poor electrode contact (systematic errors), measurement device instability (random errors) and non-deterministic external effects (sporadic errors), (Perri et al., 2012).
Finally, the resistance data sets were inverted on the unstructured tetrahedral mesh selected (composed by 119059 tetrahedral elements and 20170node points.) using the R3t code including the relative errors (Binley, 2014). R3t is a forward/inverse solution for three-dimensional current flow in a tetrahedral or triangular prism mesh. The inverse solution is based on a regularised objective function combined with weighted least squares (an ‘Occams’ type solution) as defined in Binley and Kemna (2005). Neumann (no current flow) boundary conditions are applied at the boundary of the mesh and so if a half-space is modelled then the mesh should be extended away from the region of interest to account for ‘infinite’ boundaries. R3t calculates the output parameters (resistivity) for the entire mesh. The region is parameterised in terms of resistivity blocks by grouping patches of elements.
The resistivity variations (%) at each time step were computed with respect to the background, considering in the time-lapse inversions only the same quadripoles. The effect of the temperature on the inverted imagery was ignored because the ERT monitoring was performed at the same time of the day during the summer season.

Modelli diretti su una struttura di terra omogenea (100 Ohm m) sono stati eseguiti per una serie di discretizzazioni non strutturate (mesh) per valutare l'accuratezza della soluzione numerica (errore di modello). Uno dei principale vantaggi nell'uso delle ‘mesh’ non strutturate è la facilitazione di raffinazione delle griglie all'interno di regioni distinte (griglia di elettrodi, zone interne ed esterne). La parte essenziale del trattamento ha comportato il calcolo degli errori (misure e modello). La scorrevolezza della distribuzione di resistività ottenuta dipende dal livello dell'errore nel set di dati, che può sorgere a causa di una varietà di fonti, per esempio insufficiente o inadeguato contatto tra gli elettrodi (errori sistematici), instabilità di dispositivo di misurazione (errori casuali) e di effetti esterni non deterministici (sporadici errori), (Perri et al., 2012).
