Bonjour!! I was born in Montreal to a francophone mother and an anglophone father, so I consider myself naturally bilingual. Since I grew up in an anglophone suburb, my parents chose to send me to French schools, giving me the best of both worlds! Always eager to learn, I took courses in many fields of the social sciences and humanities, from anthropology to political science. I graduated with Honors and Distinction, receiving a B.A. in Comparative Religion, and went on to interdisciplinary graduate studies. Meanwhile I worked as an administrative assistant for various companies in and around Montreal, often doing translation as well as English and French business writing as part of my work. I have worked for the City of Montreal in the Communications department, providing bilingual services to citizens and often interpreting back and forth, as well as producing documents in both languages. I am therefore new to freelancing, but have many years of experience with academic writing, as well as translation. |
