Global textware is a localisation company: a translation agency that translates software and the corresponding documentation. We implement the Dutch-language project components for localisation centres operating worldwide. Our work includes the translation of commonly known end-user packages and larger systems, websites, telecommunication, gaming etc. The company was established in 1997 and is based in Groningen, the Netherlands.

Global textware comprises approximately ten members of staff, all of whom have completed academic or higher professional education. All tasks are performed internally as far as possible. Team spirit and willingness to accept responsibility are core concepts. For each project, a team of translators and trial readers is compiled, and these are jointly responsible for the final product: the Dutch version of the software package.

We implement Dutch-language project components for major customers with branches across the entire world. This often means the localisation of English or German-language software packages for the Dutch market, including the commonly known end-user packages and larger systems in the domain of Enterprise Resource Planning. The major producers of printers, copiers and scanners belong to the regular accounts.
In addition, Global textware produces translations on assignment from distributors and importers of German and English-language software, often custom packages for a certain branch of industry, including the area of archive management.

In general web-based CAT tools are imperative to translation agencies focusing on the ICT market. Communication with clients and vendors is partly web based, and a great deal of our daily work takes place through the web. By using all common applications for ICT oriented translation agencies Global textware can provide software, web content and various other translations more efficiently and consistently. Furthermore, updates can be delivered more quickly and at a favourable rate since the translations are digitally processed and archived and can be easily retrieved from the database.
