Having worked for over ten years in international marketing within the publishing and financial industries, I am able to bring real practical experience to my translations in this area.
I also have a breadth of translation experience across the education (I recently translated a secondary school science textbook for an Arab state), commercial and legal sectors. I have translated a number of articles from the media, ranging from Omani irrigation systems to IT systems. I have also recently translated the winning stories in an international short story competition.
I am a volunteer translator for Prisoners Abroad and Beit al-Musica.
My residency in the Middle East has given me a good understanding of the cultural issues involved with translation. I am also a French teacher for primary school children.
