A Sports Expert.

Former Irish Hockey International Player and Cambridge "blue".

I translate from French, Spanish and Russian. I'm improving in Chinese, German and Polish. I study Irish, hence Gopaleen, after Miles na Gopaleen, the nom de plume of the inimitable ( and hence much imitated ) Flann O'Brian.

1987 - 1990: BA ( First Class ) in Law and History at Clare College, Cambridge University.

1990-2: Paul Mellon Research Fellow in the Humanities Grad School at Yale University, Conn USA. "Evidence and Truth: the logical foundations of testimony and the jurisprudential treatment of victims of genocide and terror." No PhD. Sorry.

1993-2008: Editorial Reader Penguin UK, London.

1999: Author of Porcupines: a philosophical anthology ( Allen Lane Press )
